Jerry Meyers
Independent Co-Counsel
Jerry was born in Idaho and raised on a ranch outside of Pocatello. He received a bachelor’s degree in agricultural science from Brigham Young University and a master’s degree in agricultural science from Utah State University. In 1986, he received a Juris Doctorate from the University of Idaho. Jerry’s agricultural background helped him to develop a strong, determined work ethic that he applies to each case.
Jerry began practicing general law in Pocatello in 1986. He tried cases throughout southeast Idaho in both Magistrate Court and District Court and before the Idaho Industrial Commission. He has also argued cases before the Idaho Court of Appeals and the Idaho Supreme Court.
In 1997, Jerry was appointed as the Magistrate Judge for Lemhi County. In 2007, the Idaho Supreme Court named Jerry a Senior Judge, which gave him state-wide jurisdictional authority. In 2014, Jerry retired from the bench to devote his time to representing injured persons and conducting mediations.
Jerry has mediated over 1,100 cases and is recognized as one of the premier mediators in Idaho. He is often assigned cases by the state and federal district courts in Idaho. His mediation experience gives him a unique advantage in representing our clients.
Jerry is on the Idaho Fish and Game Commission (past chairman), is a member of the Idaho Trial Lawyers (past president), Safari Club International, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and other non-profit organizations. Jerry and his wife, Sidni, live outside of Salmon, Idaho, where they raise mules and dogs. Together they have a blended family of 10 children and over 30 grandchildren. In their free time, they hunt, fish, ride mules, and take the family camping.
